Don't Internalize Political Criticism Aimed at Your Overlords
Have you ever wondered why a friend or colleague is swift to defend a politician, even if that politician's actions are indefensible? If you vote for a political leader, do you project the good image you have of yourself on the leader you elected? If so, you may want to take a look in the mirror and consider if you are indeed the paragon of virtue you think you are. While you're at it, ask yourself if your elected leaders are really as competent and moral as they seem to you. All too many times, voters see an attack on 'their politician' as a personal affront to their own intelligence or morality. Any attempt to call out Mr. Trump for his vulgar speech is considered a personal affront to the run of the mill conservative. If one dares to question the good will of Mr. Biden, they'll surely meet the wrath of leftists everywhere who forward claims of 'bigotry' and 'toxic Trumpism.' Perhaps if the federal government played a lesser role in our lives, the aforementioned drama would be a non-issue. Until then, I'll be enjoying the personal offense taken by voters everywhere on behalf of their all too criticizable commissars.
